WINDOW TINTING IN CALIFORNIA
Collision Pros does automotive window tinting in California the careful way: plotter-cut film, dust-controlled install bays, and shades that keep you legal on front glass. Choose dyed, carbon, or true ceramic window tint.
Car window tinting is about more than looks here. South Bay sun fades interiors and bakes cabins, so we lead with heat and UV rejection numbers, then let you pick the darkness you actually want.
PICK YOUR SHADE
VLT is the percentage of visible light a film lets through, so a lower number means a darker window. Every shade below is available in ceramic, and we will tell you which ones are street legal for your front doors.
Clear ceramic
Legal on front doors, pure heat rejection with almost no darkening.
Light smoke
Subtle tone, keeps night visibility wide open.
Factory look
The most requested shade for rear glass on sedans.
Deep privacy
Strong privacy for rear doors and cargo areas.
Limo black
Rear glass only, maximum privacy for SUVs and vans.
THREE FILMS, THREE BUDGETS
Darkness and heat rejection are separate things. That surprises most people, and it is the single most useful fact to know before buying window tint installation in California.
Dyed film
The budget entry point. Good glare and privacy control, modest heat rejection, and a shorter service life than the premium films.
Carbon film
A matte, non-metallic finish that never fades to purple, blocks more infrared than dyed film, and leaves signal reception untouched.
Ceramic film
Nano-ceramic particles reject the majority of infrared heat and over 99 percent of UV at any darkness level, including legal 70 percent front glass.
WHY DRIVERS TINT
Real heat rejection
Ceramic window tint keeps cabin temperatures dramatically lower on triple-digit California days and takes load off your A/C.
99%+ UV blocking
Protects skin on long commutes and stops dashboards, leather, and trim from fading, cracking, and off-gassing.
Less glare, safer driving
Cuts low-sun glare on east-west boulevards and headlight glare at night without darkening your view.
Privacy and glass hold
Keeps valuables out of sight and helps hold tempered glass together if a window is ever broken.

CALIFORNIA TINT LAW, PLAINLY
We install to California Vehicle Code so your car passes inspection and avoids a fix-it ticket. Here is the short version.
Front side windows
Must transmit at least 70 percent of light. Clear ceramic film is the way to get real heat rejection here and stay legal.
Rear side and back glass
Any darkness is allowed, down to limo black, as long as the car has both side mirrors.
Windshield
Only a tint strip across the top four inches. Full windshield film is not permitted.
Not allowed
Mirrored, metallic-reflective, red, and amber films on front side glass.
Tinting is often the finishing touch after a repair. We pair it with auto glass repair and replacement when new glass goes in, and with paint and refinishing or small scratch repair when a car is getting fully freshened up.
OUR TINT INSTALLATION PROCESS
Pick your shade in person
Hold film samples against your own glass in daylight so you see the real shade before we cut anything. We also confirm what is legal for your front windows.
Deep clean and computer cut
Glass is decontaminated and blade-cleaned, then film is plotter-cut to your exact year, make, and model so there are no hand-trimmed edges.
Heat shrink and squeegee
Curved back glass is heat shrunk to the exact contour, then the film is laid and squeegeed in a dust-controlled bay to eliminate creases and debris.
Cure, inspect, warranty
You get written cure instructions, a final quality inspection, and lifetime coverage on both the film and our workmanship.
