HEADLAMP RESTORATION IN CALIFORNIA

Cloudy, yellowed lenses steal light exactly when you need it. Collision Pros does headlight restoration in California the permanent way: wet sanded, machine polished, and sealed with a sprayed UV clear coat instead of a wipe-on shine that fades by summer.

Our headlight restoration service costs a fraction of new assemblies, keeps your factory housings, and is usually finished the same day you drop off. Headlight lens restoration is available on cars, trucks, SUVs, and full fleets.

HOW BAD ARE YOUR LENSES?

Oxidation happens in stages, and the stage you are at decides how much sanding a lens needs. Compare yours to the scale below, then let us confirm it in person for free.

Stage 1

Light haze

A faint milky film across the lens. Light output is barely affected yet, and this is the cheapest, fastest stage to correct.

Stage 2

Yellowing

The plastic has taken a yellow cast and the reflector inside looks dull. Beam edges soften and night driving gets noticeably dimmer.

Stage 3

Heavy oxidation

Brown or amber discoloration, chalky texture, and scattered light instead of a clean beam. Needs multi-stage wet sanding.

Stage 4

Crazing

A web of fine surface cracks in the UV layer. Often still restorable, but we inspect first and tell you if replacement is the smarter call.

THE SAME HEADLIGHT, RESTORED

Nothing was replaced in this photo. The original polycarbonate lens was sanded flat, polished to optical clarity, and resealed. That is the whole point of headlamp restoration: the housing, the bulbs, and the wiring are all fine, only the outer surface failed.

  • Factory housings kept, no coding or reprogramming needed
  • Clean beam cutoff instead of scattered glare
  • A newer-looking front end that lifts resale value
  • Sprayed UV clear, not a temporary wipe-on polish

OUR FIVE STAGE PROCESS

Anyone can rub polish on a lens. Lasting headlight lens restoration comes from removing the dead plastic first and sealing the fresh surface afterward.

01

Inspect and tape off

We grade how deep the oxidation runs, confirm the lens is not cracked and the housing is dry, then mask the surrounding paint so no abrasive ever touches your finish.

02

Wet sand the dead layer away

Failed UV coating and oxidized plastic are removed with progressively finer wet grits. This is the step cheap headlight restoration kits skip, and it is the reason those results fade.

03

Machine polish to optical clarity

Compound and finishing polish on a rotary bring the polycarbonate back to a clear, distortion-free surface so the lens projects light instead of scattering it.

04

Spray a new UV clear coat

A sprayed automotive UV-stable clear replaces the coating the sun destroyed. Sealed lenses stay clear for years, not weeks.

05

Cure, check aim, hand back

The clear cures under controlled heat, then we verify beam aim and cutoff before you drive off, usually within the hour.

WHY RESTORE INSTEAD OF REPLACE

Safer

Sharper beam at night

A clear lens puts light down the road where you need it, restoring reaction time on unlit California streets and freeway on-ramps.

Cheaper

A fraction of replacement

New OEM headlight assemblies are expensive, especially on LED and adaptive systems. Restoration keeps your original housings.

Faster

About one hour

Same-day, wait-in-the-lobby service. No parts to order and no downtime for your vehicle or fleet.

Lasting

UV sealed, warrantied

Sprayed clear coat plus our workmanship warranty, the same standard we hold on every repair that leaves the shop.

CALIFORNIA SUN IS THE CULPRIT

South Bay cars live outdoors in strong UV and coastal salt air, which is why headlight restoration in California is needed sooner than in cooler, cloudier states. Our Hawthorne shop serves drivers across Inglewood, Lennox, El Segundo, Gardena, Torrance, Lawndale, and Manhattan Beach.

Restoring lenses often pairs with other cosmetic work. Ask us about small scratch repair, paint and refinishing, or auto glass service while the car is with us. Browse all our services, check service areas, read customer reviews, or contact us. Managing several vehicles? Headlamp restoration is included in our fleet accounts.
